Abstract
Presentation of CaseA 31-year-old woman was admitted to the hospital because of fever.At the age of 10 years she entered another hospital because of hematemesis. The physical examination disclosed splenomegaly and massive hepatic enlargement, and an upper gastrointestinal series revealed esophageal varices. A splenectomy, a splenorenal shunt and a liver biopsy were performed; microscopical examination disclosed congestive splenomegaly and congenital cystic disease of the liver.
