Abstract
A fundamental technique in industrial engineering is to rank the items of a population in descending order of some activity and from such a distribution by value to draw an ABC curve. In many cases, ABC curves can be approximated by a log-normal frequency distribution. The mean and standard deviation of this distribution may be employed for direct determination of aggregate values of multi-item populations. Keywords
