Abstract
Bumetanide infused into 1 renal artery at 0.05 .mu.g/kg per min in the dog produced a significant ipsilateral increase in the excretion of Na and H2O with affecting the rate of glomerular filtration. The responses were limited to the infused kidney. When probenecid (50 mg/kg i.v.) was given prior to bumetanide to inhibit tubular secretion of this drug, the natriuretic and diurectic actions of bumetanide were blocked. The inhibition of bumetanide-induced natriuresis and diuresis by probenecid shows that adequate luminal concentration is a prerequisite to the natriuretic-diuretic actions of the drug. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
