Flux instabilities in hard superconductors

Abstract
This letter reports the observation of flux jumps in specimens where the fluxoid pinning is associated with small normal regions. Conditions under which macroscopic flux jumps will be observed are discussed and two mechanisms are suggested which will lead to instability.Keywords
