Intrafamily Correlation and Its Significance in the Interpretation of Sample Surveys

Abstract
Attention is called to the importance of intraclass correlation in various kinds of survey studies where sub-sampling or natural clusters may be present. The problem is analyzed, standard statistical methods for analysis appropriate to the problem are described. A Fortran program for handling the problem on computers is described. Some examples of the analysis are shown as applied to the morbidity data of a study of the housing environment and family life.
