Abstract
The equatorial plane radiation fields produced by a sinusoidal distribution of axial electric field along a half wavelength circumferential slot on a metallic cylinder of radiusahave been computed by means of an IBM-704 electronic computer. Radiation patterns in this plane are given for sizes of cylinder from1\leqka\leq30. It is believed that these computations are the most accurate made to date for these patterns. From these patterns it is seen that as the cylinder increases in size, for a given wavelength, the patterns sharpen, and in the limit of infinite cylinder radius the patterns approach that from a slot on an infinite plane. Keywords
