Abstract
Surprise‐children and their mothers don't think alike. In this case, there are clear differences in how both groups perceive violence (or even define it). John Abel is an assistant professor of telecommunication at Michigan State University, while Ms. Beninson is a doctoral student in the mass media program at the same institution. Keywords
