Abstract
The effects of temperature on the operation of the nucleate generator have been extensively studied. The experimental test procedure is outlined and the test results on the generator current as a function of temperature are discused. A temperature profile in the nucleate region due to an instantaneous heat source is derived both experimentally and theoretically. The calculated thermal time constant was verified by an experiment in which the generator was preheated by a non‐nucleating current pulse and then driven by a nucleation pulse in which the delay and amplitude were varied to generate a time‐temperature profile. Keywords
