Abstract
To the Editor: Infection with Chlamydia trachomatis has been reported in immunocompromised patients,1 , 2 but to our knowledge, not in association with HIV infection. We report a case of C. trachomatis pneumonia and possible pericarditis associated with HIV.A 38-year-old male homosexual was found to be seropositive for HIV in October 1987, with 0.03X109 CD4-positive lymphocytes per liter. Weight loss and polyneuropathy developed subsequently, and zidovudine (200 mg six times per day) was prescribed.
