Abstract
Arrhenoblastoma of the ovary is one of the few masculinizing tumors. It is thought to arise from testicular remnants in the ovaries. It produces its masculinizing effect by its androgenic activity. A case is presented of a masculinizing tumor in which a pre-sacral air insufflation demonstrated a left suprarenal mass. At surgery this was proven to be an artifact and the adrenals were found to be normal. Later surgery demonstrated an arrhenoblastoma of the left ovary which was removed. Shortly thereafter the patient experienced a return of normal menstrual function and gradual diminution of her masculinizing features. A few months later the patient became pregnant and subsequently was delivered of a healthy baby boy. Keywords
