Correlations in the Two-Particle Inclusive Reactionsπ±+p→π−+π−+ Anything

We present rapidity distributions for the one- and two-particle inclusive reactions ${\pi }^{-}+p\to {\pi }^{-}$ + anything and ${\pi }^{-}+p\to {\pi }^{-}+{\pi }^{-}$ + anything at 8 and 18.5 $\frac{\mathrm{GeV}}{c}$, and ${\pi }^{+}+p\to {\pi }^{-}$ + anything and ${\pi }^{+}+p\to {\pi }^{-}+{\pi }^{-}$ + anything at 18.5 $\frac{\mathrm{GeV}}{c}$. The two-particle correlation functions for these reactions are observed to show strong dependence on the rapidities of the final-state particles and on the nature and momentum of the incident particle. Systematic variations in these correlation functions are discussed.
