Abstract
The Compton profile of polycrystalline vanadium has been measured using 59.54-keV rays from an source. In the regions of medium and high electron momentum, the observed profile coincides with that calculated from Hartree-Fock free-atom wave functions for the outer-electron configuration . At small momentum values the experimental results deviate significantly from those predicted by Hartree-Fock theory.
