Abstract
An actinomycetes producing aspartate aminotransferase inhibitor was isolated from soil. This strain was identified and named Streptomyces sumanensis nov. sp. NK-23 from its taxonomical characteristics. When this strain was aerobically cultured in a medium containing 4% (w/w) glucose, 1.5% meat extract, 1.5% polypeptone and 0.3% NaCl at pH 7.0, a remarkable amount of the inhibitor (designated as gostatin) was produced in the culture filtrate. This publication has 6 references indexed in Scilit:
