Abstract
Axillary buds of tobacco under apical suppression are stimulated by benzyladenine (BA) applied in a lanolin paste or in aqueous solution. Sustained growth increased with BA concentration up to 1 mg BA/ml lanolin. Thymidine was incorporated into macromolecules of BA-treated buds 10 h after the addition of cytokinin in lanolin. BA applied to the surface of the buds at 10−3 M in aqueous solutions with 0.1 per cent Tween 80 also stimulated DNA synthesis approximately 24 h after cytokinin treatment. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
