Abstract
The pregnancy order of 9 groups of convulsant and 2 groups of nonconvulsant probands was analysed. Bases used for classification were the presence or absence of convulsions and the type of electroencephalogram. Pregnancy order was found to be distributed at random in all 11 groups. Analysis of the groups did not reveal any birth order effect when considering only the live borns. The present study has failed to demonstrate an association between birth order and/or pregnancy order with epilepsy. Keywords
