Abstract
A new wide slot antenna with capacitively coupled CPW-feed and metallic strips in the apertures is presented. The numerical analysis is based on the Galerkin moment method in the spectral domain approach. A simplified formula to calculate the input impedance is proposed. Theoretical and experimental results demonstrate the significant performance improvement of this modified structure. The influence of various design parameters is investigated. A 50% impedance bandwidth (SWR < 2.0) and cross-polarisation levels below –20 dB are demonstrated. Keywords
