Abstract
Orthene (e rates) and Cythion (2 rates) were tested alone and in combination with the surfactant Atplus 41 IF (2 rates) for control of citrus blackfly on citrus. Test trees were 2 species (randomly mixed) of potted citrus (ht. = 5’-6’), heavily infested with citrus blackfly and maintained in an outdoor screen-house. The test was divided into two parts. The first group of trees was sprayed on Aug 15’77, the second on Aug 23’77. Control trees were not sprayed. Chemicals were applied to the run-off point (ca. 1 gal/tree) with a hand-type pump sprayer. Trees were arranged in a randomized block design. Leaves were sampled prior to treatment, and again ca. 2 and 4 weeks after treatment. Five leaves per tree were selected for evaluation of larval mortality, which was determined with the aid of dissecting needles and a binocular microscope. Keywords
