Abstract
Six hens and 6 roosters caged in groups of 3 by sex, received CGA-19255 via drinking water for 4 days. Treatment rates were 0.1, 0.5, and 1.0 ppm active ingredient. The same birds were used for all 3 rates, receiving untreated water for 3 weeks between each test. Four control groups of 3 roosters were given untreated water. One collective manure sample was taken daily from each of the 4 replicates and controls, placed in an emergence container, and seeded with 50 first-instar house fly larvae. Water consumption per bird was not recorded. Keywords
