Abstract
To the Editor: Cocaine use is becoming an increasingly frequent problem in the United States. Cocaine has been gaining popularity on the street faster than any other drug.1 A number of studies suggest that the adverse effects of cocaine are rare and usually not serious.1 2 3 We wish to describe a potentially life-threatening complication of the use of this drug: staphylococcal sepsis resulting from cocaine sniffing.A 38-year-old white man was admitted with headache, fever, and chills.
