Abstract
Different versions of feminism and post‐modernism are surveyed and briefly described. The current debate about the relationship between feminism and post‐modernism is reviewed with particular regard to the challenges each set of theories offers to traditional epistemologies. The paper concludes with a section in which suggestions are made about the influence of feminism and post‐modernism on the methodology of educational research—including action research. The suggestions occur in the context of a reflection on the author's own recent research projects. Keywords
