Modified 1×2 directional coupler waveguide modulator

Abstract

A novel 1×2 Ti:LiNbO₃ modified directional coupler modulator is demonstrated. The 3 dB operating point requires no bias voltage. The device has a lower switching voltage requirement than a conventional directional coupler.
