Abstract
Lundh, L.-G.: Causal attributions and their emotional consequences. Nordisk Psykologi, 1986, 38 (2), 107–116. This paper describes research on causal attributions and their emotional consequences. Attributional variables have been shown to affect degree of self-esteem, anxiety, and motivation, and have been postulated as significant factors in the development of depression, phobias, and anxiety neurosis, and in connection with relapse in alcoholics. It has also been shown that people have a general tendency to attribute different causes to their own behaviour than the causes they attribute to the behaviour of others. Keywords
