Some of the problems associated with the design of a constant environment animal house are discussed, together with solutions in a specific example. Control of room temperature to ± 1°F (±0.6°C) and relative humidity to ± 1.5% was achieved at an overall capital cost of approximately £7 per square foot (£75/m2).
