Abstract
A flow injection procedure combined with the usual batch procedure has been developed and applied to the determination of glucose with a colorimetric soluble enzyme test kit. A variable-volume mixing device equipped with a septum rubber injection port is placed in the middle of the injection loop of a six-port injection valve. The reagents are introduced into it by the sample circuit of the six-port valve and the samples are introduced through the septum injection port of the mixer. The samples and reagents react within the mixing device and the reaction products are introduced into the carrier by rotation of the six-port valve. In this procedure a reaction coil and a closely adjusted carrier are not needed, so stability and reproducibility are high. Analytical parameters for the determination of glucose were investigated and glucose in serum samples was determined with fairly good success.
