Abstract
We describe a new genus and species of insectivore based on two dentaries with nearly complete lower dentition from the Clarkforkian (earliest Eocene) of the Clark's Fork Basin, Wyoming. It is distinctive in having digitate lower incisors and exceptionally broad but relatively low-crowned molars, and it differs from all other insectivores in having a fully molar-iform lower last premolar. For these reasons, the new genus is placed in a new family, of which it is the only known member. This new taxon probably represents a divergent lineage of early Insectivora, perhaps more closely allied to the Nyctitheriidae than to other families. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
