Abstract
The evolution with temperature of the cerium 3d and 4d core levels in CePd 3 has been studied by X-rays Photoemission Spectroscopy (XPS). Whereas the bulk experiments (lattice parameter, X-rays absorption, inelastic neutron scattering...) indicate an increase in the cerium 4+(4f0 5d2) configuration as the temperature decreases, our XPS results show on the contrary a complete disappearance of this cerium 4+ configurationKeywords
