Abstract
A new sampling technique has been developed which enables time-resolved electron energy distribution measurements to be made in a periodically varying plasma by means of the Langmuir-Druyvesteyn probe method. The method is illustrated with measurements made in moving striations in a neon discharge (p=032 torr, I=330 mA, 2R=70 cm); the validity of the technique for these discharge conditions is examined in detail. Keywords
