Abstract
The fundamental principle of a new electronic apparatus for measuring yarn hairiness is described; it furnishes simultaneously three parameters, viz, yarn diameter, index of total hairiness, and index of hair length. As an example of the practical application of the new apparatus, the comparative hairiness of conventional yarns and open-end yarns spun on a BD 200 spinning frame was studied. Keywords
