Performance evaluation of Algebraic Reconstruction Techniques for the mapping of cortex current distribution activity by inversion of simulated event related potentials

Abstract
The performance of Algebraic Reconstruction Technique (ART) algorithms for the inversion of simulated Event-Related (Evoked) Potentials is investigated. Using reference dipole multipole and extended distributions, we examine the behavior of the algorithms by checking a set of critical parameters related to the algorithm's self-consistency, measuring the covergence accuracy and speed, the quality of resolution and the resistance to various levels of noise corruption.
