Abstract
A piezoelectric quartz crystal coated with tetrabutyphosphoniun chloride was found to be a good detector for acetoin. The coating is sensitive in the ppb range and completely reversible. The response curve is linear over a concentration range of 8-120 ppb. The detector can be tuned to give a satisfactory response in 30 seconds. Keywords
