Abstract
Computed tomography (CT) was performed on 204 patients with rectal carcinoma in an attempt to determine the tumour stage preoperatively. In 154 patients CT and histopathology could be compared. Correct staging was achieved in 60 to 70 per cent of the patients, but considerable over- and understaging limit the use of CT in preoperative staging of rectal carcinoma. This publication has 25 references indexed in Scilit:
