Abstract
This paper presents a numerical modelling technique, using the finite element method, of transient electromagnetic phenomena which occur during the electromagnetic forming process. The electromotive force due to the motion is considered. Owing to the fact that the geometry becomes nonuniform during motion, a suitable technique to avoid the introduction of a speed term as well as remesh generation at each time step is proposed. The numerical results are in agreement with measurement data.Keywords
