Abstract
The Cahuilla Indians survived early white contact in proportionately greater numbers than most California Indian groups. The reduction in their population occurred in the later 19th century. Improved communications after the American occupation of California fosteredintermarriage among neighboring groups. Traditional Cahuilla society gradually lost its members and was unable to replace them. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
