The reaction of Chloridobis(cyclopentadienyl)titanium(III) with disulphides

Abstract
Chloridobis(cyclopentadienyl)titanium(111) (cp2TiCl) cleaves dialkyl and diaryl disulphides to give monothio compounds, cp2Ti(Cl)SR, together with varying amounts of cp2TiCl2 and cp2Ti(SR)2. The latter bisthio compounds were prepared independently by the reaction of cp2TiCl2 with the sodium salts of the corresponding thiols.
