Abstract
We examine some of the problems associated with understanding wide-angle scaling laws in quantum field theory. We have in mind a model in which the hadrons are bound states of quarks. In this paper we examine elastic electromagnetic form factor behavior in a renormalizable scalar-field-theory model. We investigate the extent to which the asymptotic behavior is determined by the short-distance properties of the theory. The dependence on both the bound-state wave function and the strong radiative corrections is considered. The differences between the scalar theory and a more realistic quark-vector-gluon model are pointed out. Keywords
