Abstract
Each aminoacyl-tRNA synthetase must functionally distinguish its cognate tRNAs from all others. We have determined the minimum number of changes required to transform a leucine amber suppressor tRNA to serine identity. Eight changes are required. These are located in the acceptor stem and in the D stem. Keywords
