Abstract
The integral equation for the radial distribution function of a fluid of rigid spherical molecules has been integrated numerically in the Kirkwood approximation and in the Born-Green approximation over a wide range of densities. The distribution functions so obtained have been used to calculate the equation of state and excess entropy of the fluid. The results are compared with those obtained by means of the free volume theory of the liquid state. Keywords
