Abstract
The activities and recommendations of the Second International Symposium on Permissible Limits of Air of Workplaces are briefly reviewed. Basic aspects of various methods of developing and establishing limits and standards are considered with comments. Agreement was reached that substances be classed in three groups: Group I—primarily acute toxic response; Group II—primarily cumulative response; and Group III—carcinogens and sensitively acting substances. Keywords
