Inclusions reduce Blochwall areas and increase free magnetic poles. Magnetostriction leads to stresses. Blochwall configurations and movement during magnetization changes are strongly affected by the mechanical properties. Especially important is the interaction of dislocation with Blochwalls. Magnetic Barkhausen measurements give an insight on the domain structure and are used now to study routinely the mechanical soundness of work pieces.
