Abstract
Two-body nonleptonic decays of the mesons are studied. Three mechanisms—quark-mass-dependent effects, final-state interactions, and mixing-angle effects in the six-quark model—are shown to have the capability to substantially modify naive theoretical expectations for SU(3) and quark-model relations among the various modes.
