Abstract
Bird song has been a particularly fruitful field of research for animal behaviorists. Of particular concern is its organization as a signal, its development and communicative function, and the significance of local variations and dialects. This paper reviews recent findings in these areas. This publication has 35 references indexed in Scilit:
