Abstract
Estimation equations for physical model parameters - stiffnesses and inertias - are derived, based on measured modal data. The method of selective sensitivity is employed to obtain estimation equations which decouple each small subset of model parameters from the remaining unknown model parameters. An analytical method for evaluating the stability and accuracy of the parameter estimates is described. This analysis is based on a convex-model representation of the uncertainty in the modal data. Keywords
