Abstract
The cases of 2 patients who had stercoraceous perforations of the colon are reported, and the literature is reviewed. The disease is not as rare as was commonly thought. Diagnosis of the condition is made during operation or at autopsy. These patients are often seriously ill, and the mortality rate is relatively high. Awareness of the existence of the disease is essential for making a proper diagnosis. This publication has 7 references indexed in Scilit:
