Abstract
The availability of the complete genome sequence of Mycobacterium tuberculosis has revolutionised many areas of tuberculosis research and facilitated functional genomics studies. Most notably, transcriptomics and proteomics have become important tools in gaining increased understanding of the biology of M. tuberculosis and offer the promise of being able to deliver novel drug targets and vaccine candidates. Keywords
