Abstract
Dogiel''s type III cells radiate multidendritic (long, dendritic, tapering) uniaxonal neurons which represent an independent population of neurons. Type III cells as a rule are concentrated in aggregates and are localized in the central and aboral parts of the ganglia. The greater part of the neurites of type III cells run aborally, i.e., there are type-specific descending routes within the plexus myentericus (Auerbach). Type III cells are preferred vascularized neurons.
