Abstract
In order to increase the ion transmission in a mass spectrometer, an ion optical system which renders the output ion beam from a magnet parallel to the median plane is proposed, and its general design formulae and processes are presented. The characteristics and the merits of the present system over the conventional two directional beam focusing arrangement are discussed and some numerical examples are given. This publication has 3 references indexed in Scilit:
