Abstract
Nine therapeutic agents were fed to colonies infected with European foulbrood in the San Luis Valley of Colorado. Three gave promising control. Streptomycin and its dihydro form both gave highly significantly better control of the disease than the untreated colonies. Colonies fed Terramycin showed a significant improvement when compared to untreated colonies. Penicillin, diamidin, promin, aureofac, and a sulfone (N, N-diaminodiphenyl sulfone-digalactoside) did not give satisfactory control. Aureomycin may warrant further testing. Groups of colonies sprayed with a fine mist of sirup containing dihydrostreptomycin, streptomycin, Terramycin, and a Terramycin-dihydrostreptomycin combination all failed to show any significant improvement in EFB when compared to unsprayed colonies. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
