Abstract
The first female of Rhynchothorax articulatus Stock, 1968 is described from a specimen collected off the east coast of North Auckland Peninsula, and Rh. percivali n.sp. is described from material from a tide pool in Lyttelton Harbour and from 75 m off Otago Peninsula. Rh. percivali is very similar to Rh. mediterraneus Costa except that it has auxiliary claws and a six-segmented palp.
