Abstract
Archeopyle formation involving release of almost the entire epitheca is described in three new species of Upper Jurassic dinoflagellates from southern England. The mode of breakage is discussed in relation to similar types of thecal rupture in present-day dinoflagellates and is concluded to be different. Keywords
