Abstract
A choice reaction time test (CRT) and a task which involved judging the directional aspects of bail flight (BFT) were administered to 3 groups defined as high ability table tennis players (N = 13), average ability table tennis players (N = 18), and non-games players (N = 15). An analysis of the results of the BFT task in terms of personality (Eysenck's extraversion/introversion and neuroticism dimensions) failed to show any significant differences although significant differences were found between the ability groups in both the CRT and BFT tasks. The relationship between Ss' times for the 2 tasks was significant for the non-games players and average ability table tennis players but not for the high ability table tennis players. Possible explanations for this latter result are suggested.
